A refinished tub is low-maintenance, but not no-maintenance. The good news: keeping that glossy finish looking new comes down to a handful of easy habits. Do these, and your tub will reward you for years.
First, give it time to cure
After we finish, wait about 24 hours before using the tub. The finish needs that time to fully harden. We'll tell you exactly when it's ready before we leave.
Clean it gently
Use non-abrasive cleaners — a little mild dish soap, or a gentle, non-scratch bathroom spray, with a soft cloth or sponge. That's genuinely all it takes for everyday cleaning.
What to avoid
- Abrasive powders and scouring pads. Anything gritty will dull the gloss over time.
- Harsh chemicals. Skip bleach, acetone, and heavy-duty bathroom acids — they can attack the finish.
- Letting things sit. Don't leave shampoo bottles, razors, or metal cans sitting on the surface; rinse away standing water when you can.
The bath-mat mistake
This is the one people miss. Suction-cup bath mats that stay stuck down trap water against the finish and, over months, can lift or dull it. If you use a mat, choose a removable one and hang it up to dry after each bath. Your finish will thank you.
Handle chips early
Drop something heavy and nick the surface? Don't panic — and don't ignore it. A small chip is easy to address before water works underneath it. Give us a call; if it's within your 5-year warranty, we've got you covered.
That's really it
Gentle cleaning, no abrasives, a dry mat, and quick attention to chips. Follow those and a quality refinished tub stays glossy and smooth for well over a decade.
